Plenty of vacancy ads include pay details. Saying "competitive rates" means nothing really.

Exactly, could be 50k could be 70k.
I wish some of these companies would better explain things, if they are looking for qualified drivers then explain where you'll be based, or if you'll be mobile, what's the pay in a general sense? Moving jobs as a driver can be a big change and a big gamble, and if you don't know what you're getting into doubly so.

Agree 100%. I emailed them to ask locations. Unless I'm missing something, completely pointless not to put these most basic details!

All toc/foc driver salaries are stated on aslef website. Some are a bit out of date.

Except Dc rail and Rog

Im guessing with it says "national" you could book on at home and travel nationwide like Colas and maybe Rog.

ROG don’t recognise ASLEF so there will be no info about them on ASLEF’s website.
Looking at the address it’s based in Derby but probably have remote booking on from all over.

Yeah so do I, as someone who works as a driver why would I waste my time applying for a company that can't even be bothered to put the locations or how much they are paying?

Why place an advert that means you would get an influx of emails asking about the salary etc and route info when you could have saved yourself the hassle of all that admin by declaring the info on the ad....unless the info wasn’t that interesting. Also is this a new company, never heard of them before??

I'm led to believe the reason they haven't provided locations is because you are based at home and can work anywhere your route knowledge allows.

I won't divulge exact salary details in case it's not meant to be shared but it's over 50k

"Competitive salary"

Who with, Tyne & Wear Metro or LNER?
Island Line or Cross Country?

Half-baked laziness.

Other freight operators. That's fairly obvious I would have thought.

Precisely, with the type of work undertaken by FOCs initiative is one of the most important assets any applicant can possess, if you haven't got it then it's a pointless exercise to even consider applying
