Travelling south on LM today betwen Kidsgrove and Rugeley, we overtook a FHH loaded coal train just North of Stafford. It subsequently ran through Rugeley TV on the main line up slow. Does anyone know the origin / destination of this movement ?- presumably either Liverpool or Ellesmere Port as origin, but heading where - Ratcliffe - by a rather roundabout route ?

Sounds like 6Z22 Liverpool to Ratcliffe - what time of day did you see it?

It was about 1040 at Rugeley TV

Yes, it would have been 6Z22 0323 Liverpool Bulk Terminal to Ratcliffe Power Station running via a different roundabout route from that scheduled, though it was running 227 late at Stafford. Booked to run via Bushbury Walsall Water Orton Nunaton Leicester to reverse at Stapleford and Sandiacre, diverted to run via WCML to Nuneaton. Was 135 late at destination.
