Not Beeswax

This is available from Health Food shops in, I believe, capsules.
When you mentioned capsules, my initial thought was royal jelly. A quick wiki search for info led me onto Propolis, which I'd never heard of until now.

Propolis is correct.

It literally means before the city in Greek. Pro +. Polis

It is made from tree saps and exudates gathered by beesand used variously to line cells before the queen lays, in wax to strengthen it and to seal gaps less than 6mm.

If a mouse gets in s hive it may be covered in propolis and mummified.

Open Floor declared, so ...

Name 5 islands which have international borders running through them.

NB I want the names of the islands - bonus points for the countries involved, but not essential

Cyprus (Turkey and Greece)?

Cyprus is not divided between Turkey and Greece at least not officially. The "Greek" part is the Republic of Cyprus which has been independent since 1960 (from UK) and the "Turkish" side which is at least officially independent but was taken by Turkey in 1974 and called the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Added to that the two Sovereign Bases belonging to the UK as well as the British retained sites in the Troodos Mountains and parts of Nicosia Airport plus the UN Buffer Zone if you want to count that as well.

Anyway back on topic: Tierra del Fuego - Chile/Argentina.

Correct. Your floor.

Of the other islands mentioned I wouldn't count Great Britain, and I would say Cyprus is divided between Cyprus and North Cyprus.

Not mentioned (so far) is Tierra Del Fuego (Argentina / Chile)

Camillierri who wrote the Inspector Montalbo novels was born in Porto Empedocle which was used as the basis for Montelusa

Porte is italian / Latin for door

That's a leap I hadn't made and you're so close that it would be unfair not to award you the next question, so I'll give it to you :)

The police officer Agatino Catarella, who works at the police station in Vigàta, often features in the stories; he also often has issues keeping the door to Comissario Montalbano's office closed.

The floor is yours.

I think this is to do with the amount of coins that can be used as legal tender to settle a debt.
1p and 2p can only be used to settle an amount up to 20p
5p and 10p can be used to settle an amount up to £5
20p and 50p can be used to settle an amount up to £10

Coins of £1 and above can be used to settle any amount.

Correct. Specially £1, 2, 5, 20, 50 and 100 are valid for any amount.

In Scotland and NI only coins are legal tender.

Over to you.

Thank you :)

Staying with coins, what was the value of the following in old money and, if still in circulation today, what value would they represent?

Bob, Joey, Florin, Crown, Bender

Bob was a shilling = 5p
Joey was threepenny bit = 1.25p
Florin was 2 shillings = 10p
Crown was 5 shillings = 25p
Bender was sixpence (half a shilling)= 2.5p

That was a very swift correct answer.

I would have accepted 4d for Joey as well, as that was the nickname for the Groat (4d) before it went out of circulation. The mint is yours, @Nighthawke

I've had to do a bit of checking about this, as I knew that the Avro Manchester was the forerunner of the Avro Lancaster.

However, what I didn't know (or had forgotten) was the names of the two successors which of course I remembered as soon as I saw them! I won't name them yet, though, just in case anyone else can give the two answers unaided.
