Gent-Amsterdam query

I know there are no advance tickets within Belgium, so I take it to be the same on the above route. The NMBS website gives a fare (non-Thalys) of €48.40. Would this be the same if bought on the day? And could I break the journey in Rotterdam?

Yes, the fare will be the same when bought on the day (although service fees may apply if you buy at a Belgian ticket office). Break of journey in Rotterdam is allowed.
