Platform 2 was a 6 car platform, so it’s being extended to 7. So you’ll have 2 8 car platforms, but it’s not until 4&5 are done that you get 3 8 carsI believe the plan is once 2&3 are done (as then you have a choice of three platforms for 8-car trains).
Hoardings surrounding platforms 2 & 3 at #GQS have been split, with a temporary walkway between enabling pedestrian flow. This week and next, as we complete the platform extension works, other parts of the station layout will change. We will keep you updated on this.

First glazing panels up on the facade this morning. Sorry no photo!
Queen Street redevelopment is adding a touch of glass with the installation of the new façade. Between now and September, 310 glass panes will be installed across the 21-metre-high structure to create new frontage of city station. More details here https://gapi.io/654f #GQS
Covering an area of 734m2 and weighing 33,000kg, floor-to-ceiling glazing will gradually bring to life the striking design of the new exterior, from both inside & outside station. Its yet another exciting phase of project to transform #GQS in to a station fit for a Queen street
