I had a room looking west, so I could see some trains under the roof but not very many. Evidently the thing to do is to ask for a south-facing room!

Great Tip. The sort of view I'd be happy watching all day long with RRT on the go on my laptop, if I wasn't spending my time in the UK riding the lines. Jury's in Nottingham has a view of the tracks east of Nottingham station but nothing as good as the images shown here.
