Hi all, I was browsing earlier and found this photo (not mines) of a Great Northern (maybe FCC at the time) Class 313 set with Tottenham Hale on the destination blind. Has this ever happened?

They've got Spalding and Audley End on their blinds as well. They won't be going there either!

Thanks for the replies guys, knew there must have been a rational explanation for it. :)

Don't forget before FCC came along, all services into Cambridge were operated by WAGN - I suspect there is a common, identical blind for 313s and 317s.

The Class 313 unit pictured is ex-Silverlink - so unless the blind was a spare from the WAGN or Silverlink days, that explanation can't make sense.

Does that make a difference? Its not like it would still have Silverlink blinds - FCC would've put theirs in, which would probably still be WAGN ones...?

Surely the blind would've been from British Rail days given the age of the 313s

I expect that the blinds were set up with many more destinations than normal service terminals, to enable accurate displays to be shown at times of disruption. Therefore stations such as Tottenham Hale, Seven Sisters etc are likely to appear.

I think it's likely that a common blind was used for 313s and 317s (when they used to have blinds. This is the whole list:

(White blank)
(Red blank) [third tail-light for Northern City Line]
Audley End
Baldock
Bishops Stortford
Broxbourne
Cambridge
Cheshunt
Chingford
Depot
Ely
Enfield
Finsbury Park
Gordon Hill
Harlow Mill
Harlow Town
Hertford East
Hertford North
Hitchin
Hitchin via Hertford North
Huntingdon
Huntingdon via Hertford North
Kings Cross
Kings Cross via Hertford
Kings Lynn
Letchworth
Letchworth via Hertford North
Liverpool Street
Moorgate
Moorgate via Hertford North
Peterborough
Royston
Seven Sisters
Sorry Not In Service
Spalding
Special
Stanstead Airport
Stevenage
Stevenage via Hertford North
Stratford
Tottenham Hale
Ware
Welwyn Garden City
(Red blank)
(White blank)

It's a real annoyance if another driver arrives at Hertford North and winds the blind up to the red next to Audley End upon arrival, as if you then take over, once you arrive at Moorgate you have to wind through the whole list to get to Welwyn! The red blank next to Welwyn becomes faded because it gets used the most, as most drivers use this red blank because it's more convenient.

On a semi-related note, during their introduction, a 321 occasionally appeared on the West Anglia "Inners" as well.

A bit more than "occasionally"; I picked up about half the entire fleet for haulage on the Tottenham Hale run as they were being introduced.

Remember the 321's well, they replaced the 310,s and 312's and also some loco hauled services. The Lea Valley has seen a great variety of stock over the years.
