All Cambridge fasts are 387s AFAIK.
All the Kings Lynn are 387 as they attach/detach portion at CambridgeAccording to the website the 11:42 is a King's Lynn service. What stock can I expect on this service?
There goes my hopes of first class then. On what services are 700s and 387s?All the Kings Lynn are 387 as they attach/detach portion at Cambridge
The slows from Kings Cross and semi fasts from St Pancras are 700s.There goes my hopes of first class then. On what services are 700s and 387s?
387's have first class accommodation. That's annoying. The first class was a good deal and with 387s being the only option there's no point.
...That's not worth a penny extra.387's have first class accommodation.
it's a 387(usually 2*4 car). direct to cambridge,no stops , then front 4 cars detatch and carry on to kings lynn.According to the website the 11:42 is a King's Lynn service. What stock can I expect on this service?

But then the journey takes longer. If I wanted to go slow I would have gone on GA in their first class.Best buying a standard class ticket and using the declassified rear first class section of a 700 from St Pancras instead.

Personally I wouldn't say 700 declassified first is an improvement over 387 standard though. Seats are no better, and there is worse window alignment and no carpets.Just trying to be helpful.
Besides, towards Cambridge you only get in about 10 mins behind the fast anyway.
I can use the core instead. I'm quite happy to take a bit longer if it means better access and a seat! I also have to "slum it" in standard.

The First section at the back of those trains is freely usable by Standard ticket holders.
