Both problems are reported to have been cleared, but both GNER and Hull Trains services are delayed, with some services cancelled due to the trains being in the wrong place...

A friend on a train today left Kings Cross at 0930, where GNER staff were shunting people onto it instead of letting them wait for the 1000. He got to Durham at 1500, just slightly later than 1210!!

Apparently they were held for nearly 2hrs at Newark and the surrounds (must've missed the bridge strike...but I know where and why that is). They were told it was a failed freight train...and that southbound trains were getting priority because there was no GNER stock in the southern section of the line to form more trains!

THe bridge strike...probably on the A52 bridge at Grantham, where it narrows under the bridge, also going round a corner, so any large lorry takes up all the road and has to wait for no traffic to be coming the other way. Plus, the bridge is lower than it seems due to the incline that the road is on.

Regards
