Hi folks,

I have recently been for an interview with Network Rail for the role of a grade 6 signaller in the West Midlands. The job specifies that it was an 18 months Secondment. What are the chance of this becoming a permanent role? I would love to plan my alife round it being a permanent role.

Any one with previous experience know whether this is the regular thing for recruitment or will it just only be 18 months?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

99% likely to become permanent if you're good.

Training a signaller is expensive, and the company won't waste its investment.

you might need to be flexible about where you go after that 18 months.
