37884 is making its way from Leicester to Hornsey EMUD working as 0E55 to ultimately take away 313054 + 036 which spent the weekend in the sheds at Hornsey being decommissioned before embarking on their last journey to Newport as 5Q78.

036 + 054 were both in passenger service on Friday.

So now current status is: -

Scrapped - 313.018,23,26-29,31,36,43,46,50,54-5,62-3 (15)
Stored - 313.024-25,53,56 (4) - surely must be more now?
Southern - 313.001-17,19-20 (19)
NR - 313.021 (1)
GN - 313.022,30,32-5,37-42,44-45,47-49,51-52,57-61,64 (25)

At 49 remaining for the first time since 1976 the 313 is no longer the most common PEP, with the class 315 now at the top

As it stands at 18:47, on the 1/07/2019.
All the 313's you've listed remain stored at Hornsey.
313024 stands alone on 18 Road, whilst 313053 is coupled to 025. Whilst 056 remains uncoupled all stood on 19 road at Hornsey.

GN have 122 & have scrapped 123.

According to RTT something went from Hornsey to Brighton early on Monday. Could this have been a scrapped 313 to be used for spares?

Sorry to disappoint but in actual fact, it was Gatwick Express Class 387222 returning back to Lovers Walk, Haven't been keeping up with the specific units numbers that have come over in the past but a vast majority of them have come over for a weekend for treatment on the wheel lathe.

apols for total unfamiliarity with these units current service patterns, but what is the longest run you can do on one now, in order to have a decent run before they end. Would it be Moorgate to Welwyn GC?

In all their years service I've never been on one for longer than Moorgate to Finsbury Park so it would be nice to go on a full run.

With luck I could still get one with pretty original interior layout too, unless they have all gone?

Moorgate to Stevenage via Hertford North would be the longest run I think, but they only do that on weekends now (1tph). The longest weekday journey is Moorgate to Watton-at-Stone I think at almost 25 miles, also via Hertford North (2tph).
But if it's top speed you're after, the Welwyn branch may offer more opportunity. Someone more informed than I could probably chime in.

Sounds about right. There’s a handful of trips from and to Stevenage at the start and end of service, although some or all of these may be 717s by now.

It's sad that these units are being scrapped. I would love for another TOC to take them on, but that just isn't viable, is it? :(

Had 313134 this morning with original seats, so there's at least one left (there were only three to begin with).

For those who like them, thankfully there’s the Southern units.

At the end of the day all these family of units are now at 40 years, so it’s understandable they’ve reached the end of the line. I keep a 20-year-old car running, still doing more or less the job it was doing when new, and it’s by no means an easy task, nor of course cheap - there’s no way I’d do it if it was purely an economic decision rather than partly sentimental (and also because it simply drives *so much* better than the modern equivalent). In the last year alone I’ve spent in excess of £3k keeping it going - from an economic point of view that borders on madness!

For some reason the GN 313s are a fixture which somehow seem rather timeless - perhaps because unlike some trains they’ve stayed put on the same route throughout their long life. I for one am sad to see them go.

Trains go to Stevenage on weekdays but only in the late evenings. Not sure if that helps but

That is the only one with original seats left, 123 was scrapped on 3 June and was the other unit with original seats (unless there is another one)

No other TOC would want them. They are in extremely poor condition inside and out.

Slight typo, 122 and 134 still in service. I've seen them both today.
isn't one earmarked by NRM - maybe a Southern one, you'd think they would want the orig seats for a future restoration of the unit or carriage they have earmarked ?
