Greater Anglia 1st class refund

I have a 1st class season ticket which expires next summer from Southend Victoria to Liverpool Street. But with the introduction of the class 720s they have got rid of 1st class. Am I likely to get a refund of the price differece?

You can changeover to a different season ticket at any time and get a pro-rata refund of the price difference (for the remaining period).

When did you buy the ticket? Greater Anglia ended 1st class fares on the Southend Victoria route at the start of January this year, I thought, with all 1st class on routes other London-Norwich express declassified.

I saw the writing on the wall and only renewed for standard in October 2019. In the May 2020 timetable some trains were declassified, it so happened that they included the ones I would have caught if I was still using the service. GA announced that they were no longer selling 1st class tickets in September and in the timetable that started last Sunday 1st class has gone completely except for Norwich.
