You can get a group travelcard for 10 or more people for £8.10 adult and £4 child.

See info here: https://visitorshop.tfl.gov.uk/tfl/group-day-london-travelcard/

A few questions:

1) Are these "rail" tickets, i.e. do they appear on BRFARES and can you buy them from any rail operator website?

2) The website says "Group Day Travelcards are also available in London from ticket machines at Tube stations or from London Overground or TfL Rail station ticket offices and some National Rail stations that Tube and London Overground services run through."

Does Clapham Junction sell these? Has anyone successfully purchased them from a station ticket office?

They show up on normal National Rail station systems - so any station that can sell a normal travelcard should be able to sell it by entering the origin as a station inside the zones e.g. London Terminals - and the destination of London Zones 1-6 as usual.

Edit: Shows up on BRFares.

There's a cheaper way here.

Use GTR's Groupsave offer to get 34% off adult prices when 3 or more people travel together. As part of the offer kids can travel for £2.

The tickets have to have a starting point outside the London Zones so use somewhere like Epsom (route Southern Only) where the travelcard price is exactly the same as buying within the Zones.

You can purchase online and collect from any National Rail TVM (although you will need to use multiple transactions as you can only book for up to 9 people in one trasaction). You should also be able to purchase from ticket offices.
