Here's one that's not eligible for the Guess The Station thread, so I'll try it out here:

Nope. Totally wrong end of the country. This is a photo from the very first months of the so-called Sprinter Revolution, and the 6-car 150/2 in question was one of two 6-car sets that had just displaced two 45/1s and rakes of mk IIs from this service.

It's not in Wales at all. TBF this is probably quite hard as the location has changed quite a bit. The hump has gone and the layout simplified.

Looking again the signals are very Eastern region style. The yard that used to be south of York where the Selby line used to join but the name escapes me.

That's pretty good. It's taken at the north end of Dringhouses Yard in York (about a mile north of the former Chaloners Whin Junction), looking back towards the station. The train in question is the 10:55 Scarborough > Holyhead (!), which is pretty tough going on a 150, particular when you recall just how rubbish the seats were when new.

Just been on some of those today. The LM ones still have the original seats. On those 2 x 1 + 1 x 2 = 0 sets.

Think about that (answers on a postcard)

The is where the Tesco is now. That yard used to have the Rowntree's wagons in it.

Too old........
I remember passing there behind 55013.
I should just stop showing my age.

The Tesco is about a mile further out, where Chaloners Whin Junction is. The yard is now 'executive' housing, and was indeed the location where the Rowntree's wagons where added to various Speedlink workings around the country. Ah, how times have changed.
