It turns out I was wrong to dismiss the LMR idea. They got as far south as Brum Intl, I shall try Stoke (I seem to recall an evening peak Manc-New St which went that way).

Closes to Wolves than Stoke. That narrows it down. Looking at the overheads, I think there are 4 roads, so two central roads, with the other unit being stood on one. The centre roads don't look in the best nick. It isn't New St, so I don't think anywhere in the West Mids fits (unless I am missing somewhere obvious). Therefore, one clearly got further south in NSE (I remember a couple did reach Euston later on). It couldn't be the east side of the island at Rugby could it?

Obviously urban.

Looks to be a terminus, or a reversing station.

Looks very familiar, especially the right hand side of the picture. The left hand side is throwing me somewhat.

Can't work out if it's an old photo, or some clever photography!

I'm going to guess it's an old picture, and say Bradford Interchange, but sure that's wrong.
