Another clue a bit later on if you all still struggle! By single through platform, I mean just a single platform face. So it's not Eaglescliffe - I'll be nice and tell you that it's not in Scotland!

There's a possibility that I was referring to them with my mention of HSTs ;).

Hartlepool it is! The two signalboxes around the station are Clarence Road and Stranton; I think the other clues are self-explanatory now you know the location ;).

Hartlepool has 2 through lines according to the aerial image I have looked at

Not going to disagree there. It's only got one through platform though - all up trains cross to the down line to call.

It also shows 2 platforms plus a bay platform

There's certainly not two operational platforms - at least there wasn't two weeks ago.

Well unless anyone objects, I'll have a go.

Clue 1: I currently have 2 through platforms and a bay, all regularly used.
Clue 2: I have 2 through non-platform lines, also regularly used.
Clue 3: I have been served by 4 companies since privatisation.
Clue 4: I was in the past a junction station serving the current line and a line between a major junction and a major port, though that line has now closed.
Clue 5: The town I serve has another railway station, though it is on the same line as I.

Here we go again then!

Clue 1: Only one TOC serves this station, though two routes cross here.
Clue 2: Is there any other town that has North, South, East and West signalboxes - and you can reasonably pass them all in one journey?
Clue 3: Just the three platforms, chaps.
Clue 4: The two existing routes crossing here were once at least part-owned by the same company, but one was a joint line with another.

Newark Northgate's served by GNER, Central, and Hull Trains ;). And the 'other' route through Newark was a Midland line, as opposed to the GN main line. Only one signalbox (Castle) in Newark too. Clue 3 fits though :p.

Well if you don't try, you've got no chance of getting it right! Think you should have another go, personally ;).

Hull Trains services do not serve Newark North Gate.
I think he means they pass through the station.

Total guess - Lichfield Trent Valley (or do Virgin serve it now and again?).

Not sure on Lichfield's TOCs...I do know that it doesn't have the four signalboxes mentioned though ;).

Of the answers given so far, Newark's the closest, geographically.
