Clue 1: Between 2 large cities
Clue 2: Served only by 1 TOC, although 3 others pass through there
Clue 3: Think of a group of trees that aint inside
Clue 4: Controled by an IECC ~30 miles away

Outwood? If so, blame Clue 3 ;).

Edit: If I'm right...first person to post can have the next go - I'm off to bed and I've done too many of these lately! Just chuck a signalling clue in for us though ;).

Could you narrow it down a bit more, theres tons of stations that are like that in the UK

Clue 4: Trains stopping at this station going north only have one final destination
Clue 5: Trains going south have only one of two destinations but may form a service thats goes further south

clue 2: yes
clue 3: Central
clue 4 (hopefully): Birmingham New Street
clue 5: Coventry, Northampton? some probably go through to Euston

clue 1. More TOCs serve me now tha at the initial stage of privatisation
clue 2. I have been moved eastwards along the line in the last century
clue 3. my original station building is now a Chinese restaurant
clue 4. until the 1960s, commuter trains ran from the nearest city to this station
clue 5. of my 4 original through platforms, 2 remain as such and 2 remain as disused bay platforms.

OK, extended clue list:
clue 1. More TOCs serve me now tha at the initial stage of privatisation

You're all getting closer. Little bonus clue: all answers since the additional clues were posted have at some stage been in the same county as this station.

Correct. And he's not local! Just to clarify on the clues:
clue 1: Hull Train, yes, also Transpennine Express has been split away from North East.
clue 2: yes it has, my grandparents used to live in the old station building
clue 3: yes, think its called Station House, when just takeaway in the old railwaymens cahppel it was Station Supper. It is very good food.
clue 4: correct, for the Aerospace factory
clue 5: yes
clue 6: yes
clue 7: yes
clue 8: yes, no passenger trains run through non stop.

Clue 2: You Could/Can Terminate There, Or You Could Terminate One Station Down The Line

Clue 3: Its Mehanical Box Works AB to 2 other boxes, but neither of these 2 boxes are mehanical.
