Is Guildford Reading via Heathrow valid on a cheap day return from Guildford to Reading? The other weekend during engineering works, National Rail Enquiries suggested Reading to Guildford via this route.
You get the bus to Heathrow; then a bus to Woking and then a train to Guildford. I then looked up the reverse from Guildford and it seemed to say that was valid.
I'm not suggesting one would want to go to Reading this way but the ticket costs between £8-9 with network rail card, where as a Guildford to Heathrow ticket is £16-17 with a network rail card. As a break of journey would be allowed, one would save half the price if they actually just wanted to get to Heathrow.
If valid, do wonder if the bus drivers would understand it though as it's not a very logical route to travel.
