GWR Charity Charter to West Somerset Railway Sunday 19th June

GWR have a charter on 19th June 2016 from Taunton to Minehead and return, you will get the chance to sample the longest preserved line in the country from one of GWR's newly refurbished Class 150s trains. This special will depart Taunton at 11.15 arriving at Minehead 12.55 and will return from Minehead at 15.25 arriving at Taunton at 17.05

The trip will include:

A launch party on arrival at Minehead with special guests in attendance.

A visit to the start of the former Taunton to Barnstaple branch at Norton Fitzwarren - A first for GWR Class 150.

An on board trolley service with proceeds going to charity.

But not the start of the former Taunton to Barnstaple route they haven't as that line shut before they were even introduced into service.

So have they not used it on the countless times they have been onto the WSR?

So your saying that a GWR 150 has already been down the 3/4 mile stretch of the former Taunton-Barnstaple line, of which is located at the foot of the transit chords?

It looks as though you are unaware that a few years ago a triangle was constructed at Norton Fitzwarren to enable locomotives and other rolling stock to be turned. One end of this triangle occupies the trackbed of the Barnstaple line, but I'm not sure whether any passenger trains have used it before.
