Looked like 5 or 6 143's have all been dumped in a long line in New yard (Exeter) now
That pacer has a Welsh destination did it serve in Wales previously or do all have that blindView attachment 75711 143617 is being used as a temporary messroom at Exeter St David's. This is due to the large number of crews being spare due to the service reductions.

It's all the western region! That pacer has a Welsh destination did it serve in Wales previously or do all have that blind
Ah I wasn't aware I'm currently trying to find out what rolling stock has previously worked in walesAll the 143s worked for Wales and West until the creation of Wessex Trains and Wales and Borders in 2001 which split Wales and West in to the two new ones.
While there's not much else doing with everyone on lockdown, I'd welcome such a thread.Ah I wasn't aware I'm currently trying to find out what rolling stock has previously worked in wales
Would be nice I've got a interest in West Wales but it's hard to find photosWhile there's not much else doing with everyone on lockdown, I'd welcome such a thread.
Still Romsey tonight, has been for a few days.Romsey last time I saw it.
The Destination Blind List fitted to 143621 Yellow Text on Black background is as follows,It's all the western region!
It’s now showing Milford Haven as I’ve just changed it.The Destination Blind List fitted to 143621 Yellow Text on Black background is as follows,
Abbotswood, Abergavenny, Avonmouth, Barnstaple, Bath Spa, Bridgend, Bristol Parkway, Bristol T M, Cardiff Central, Carmarthen, Castle Cary, Cheltenham Spa, Crewe, Cwmbran, Devonport, Exeter Central, Exeter St Davids, Exmouth, Falmouth, Filton, Frome, Gloucester, Gunnislake, Hereford, Liskeard, Looe, Maesteg, Manchester Piccadilly, Milford Haven, Newport, Newquay, Newton Abbeywood, Newton Abbot, Paignton, Par, Pembroke Dock, Penzance, Plymouth, Portsmouth Harbour, Port Talbot, Romsey, Salisbury, Severn Beach, Shrewsbury, Southampton, St Erth, St Ives, Swansea, Swindon, Taunton, Tenby, Totnes, Truro, Warminster, Westbury, Weston S Mare, Weymouth, Worcester.
*Newton Abbeywood is printed on the blind and is an Error. Apparently mixed up with Newton Abbot and Filton Abbeywood. This list of Destinations is the same list of Destinations printed on the black and white blinds fitted to the GWR class 143s.
This list of Destinations was made up by Wales and West in the late 90s and has been used ever since on its class 143 150 and 153s, the Yellow text on black background blinds started to be used instead of black and white in around 2002 when 153329 and 153369 transferred from Central Trains to Wessex Trains, these were the first 2 units to carry the Yellow and Black versions.
I have uploaded a picture of the same blind i was given after 150207 went through PRM mods and blinds skipped and replaced by digi screens.
Hope this helps.
If anyone can post pictures that wouls be good! Be good to see the unit sporting some weird and wonderful exotic destinations a 143 wouldnt usually serve! If any train crew care to share pics on here! It’s now showing Milford Haven as I’ve just changed it.
I do like the idea of crews fighting over which unlikely destination to put on the front of the thing! Will you be dividing into Pompey/Newton Abbeywood factions I wonder...?It now has Portsmouth Harbour.
I want to see Pembroke Dock as the next destinationI do like the idea of crews fighting over which unlikely destination to put on the front of the thing! Will you be dividing into Pompey/Newton Abbeywood factions I wonder...?
