Looks like four 166s operating Paignton Exmouth today. 166213/215/ 208/214.

There has been for the last couple of days.

Yesterday it was 166213/214/215/217 and Saturday was 166212/214/215/217.

166215 had a noticeable wheelflat when I travelled on it earlier today -- sounded like it was coming from the coach at the northern end of the formation. Not surprising really given the time of year with the poorer rail adhesion about.

Is there a shortage of Turbos at Exeter? Only two, 166202 and 166211, today. Had a 158 on the school run; that must have been cosy. one short formed 150.
Barnstaple had two 158s and a two car 150. Okehampton a 2x2 car 150.

I feel if there has to be a short formed 150 it should be Okehampton, not Barnstaple. Barnstaple is surely more deserving of a double.

This is Tuesday because of auto merge.
Only 2 166s this week, but two 2 car 158s 158769 and 158745 attached to 150244 today.

I noticed 166217 made it to Plymouth this morning on 2C05, with passengers needing to change there onto a Castle HST to continue to Penzance. Might this be the first 166 that's operated to Plymouth in passenger service?

166217/208/213 working Paignton - Exmouth today, and four 4 car 150s and a 2car working Okehampton. Best day for a while on the Devon Metro with three 158s (1 a 2car) to Barnstaple for stock allocation. Earlier in week there was 150238/158765 working together to Paignton.

Not 100% sure on weekends, I think it’s just the Greenford unit Saturdays and Nothing Sundays

3 turbo diagrams (weekdays) have the abovementioned workings into London Paddington in them:

RG202 (MO) & RG206 (MSX) which contain the 0355 Reading - Paddington & the 2155 Greenford - Paddington.

PM257 (SX) contains the 2305 Oxford - Paddington.

The 0030 Paddington - Oxford is PM257 & RG202 (MO) / PM257 & RG206 (MSX)

No 166s running down here yesterday; only one today 166202. There seems a shortage of 150s and of 158s; yesterday there were four 3x3 and 1 x2; today 4 1x3 3x2. Seems a lot of stock moves.

I believe the shortage is again (though happy to be corrected) 255's, with units having to be stepped up. Today all 3 Barnstaple diagrams are 2 cars

I asume you mean a 158/0..GWR have 158/9s (3 Car i/c 158798) and everything else is a member of the 158/0 sub class... 158/7 is merely a play on numbers and not a sub class

158951 was the three car unit to Barnstaple and 158762 to Paignton. I assumed the 9 meant three car and 7 meant 2 car although looking at the database some are 2 car with Northern. Iwas just looking at GWR and it was a convienient way for me to know how many cars GWR were operating as 2 car 158s seem to be down here lately, three operating Barnstaple on the 16 December with two 166s on Paignton.

But if we avoid mere pedantry, it is better known as a 158/7 due to that being what it’d be under normal circumstances. It’s like 317/3 actually being 317/1.

I suspect whichever database you’re referring to is wrong, 158798 is a 3 car.
