Has anybody got any IET diagrams for this weekend? Cheers in advance.

There some diagrams here on the Weekend thread:-

www.railforums.co.uk/threads/class-800-weekend-diagrams.157053/#post-3204316

However, these are possibly not up to date as they change constantly as more trains enter service. So far as weekends, and weekdays sometimes, are concerned, the permanent diagrams may not be worth the paper they are written on in many cases. There is major Engineering Work taking place every week upsetting them, shortage of trained drivers incurring swaps with HSTs. no qualified member of staff to crew the rear 5 coach unit which, again, may involve a HST substitution. GWR Twitter are very good at supplying details for individual trains, but if you ask beforehand they will always ask you to ask on the day. Unfortunately that is the current situation. You could ask again towards the weekend if anybody could help, but even then, they often change on the day itself

Could 5 cars be a Turbo? I'm not familiar with workings in that area.

Possibly if its a 3 plus 2 Turbo, but most likely an IET if one of the XX.18, XX.48 departures from Padd (the services that call at Slough then Reading then Oxford)

Didn't think you were allowed to use the staff view...

At Maidenhead there is a screen that looks like the Staff View in one of the waiting rooms - or there was last time I was there... don't look at that one either

The only difference is the use of TIPLOCs which might confuse the average passenger - and headcodes - everything else is just the same. You won't be seeing the Royal Train on it!

Or 5 if an Oxford Fast or North Cotswolds service.

Could 5 cars be a Turbo? I'm not familiar with workings in that area.

There are no 800s on fasts that start from or terminate at Oxford yet - Oxford drivers have yet to be trained on 800s, which is one of the reasons why it has been a struggle since the start of the year to find enough drivers to cover the Cotswold services, as Worcester crews can't be everywhere.

Five-car or six-car Turbo formations are not allowed to operate in passenger service west of Oxford, due to short platforms, unless one set is locked out of use. The 165s and 166s do not have selective doors.

Sets are dropped from/attached to some Turbo workings at Oxford (though 3+3 is far more common than 2+3) and the 07.50 from Paddington tows a locked-out set from Oxford to Moreton-in-Marsh to work the 09.50 back to London.

At present, I belleve the weekday Cotswold Line services booked to be an 800 are as follows - but there are no guarantees.

From Paddington
05.47 to Worcester
06.52 to Great Malvern
09.21 to Worcester
11.22 to Worcester
14.21 to Worcester
16.22 to Great Malvern

To Paddington
08.25 from Worcester
09.54 from Great Malvern
12.00 from Worcester
13.55 from Worcester
17.26 from Worcester
19.42 from Great Malvern

The 15.22 from Paddington to Great Malvern and 18.34 return was worked by an 800 for some weeks at the start of the year but is currently a Turbo - maybe to ensure they do have a trained crew available for the 16.22, which had suffered a number of cancellations due to lack of guards or drivers.

With no trains last Saturday due to snow and engineering work closing the line between Hanborough and Oxford the past couple of Sundays, hard to be sure what the weekend IET workings may be.

Does anyone know if the Cotswold diagrams will remain the same in late July/early July? I’m travelling on two afternoon Oxford services in first, was hoping for an HST.

The list of GWR 800s in the "Frequently requested diagrams" states Valid until Sunday 25th March 2018
Any signs of any new/changed diagrams kicking in on Monday?
Many thanks, Graeme

Go for a Hereford service, they're most likely to be a HST

Yes I know and thanks cactustwirly but I can’t really choose what train to get to Paddington, I need it to connect with my onward train! :)

There are no trains HST, IET nor Turbo between Hereford and Worcester Saturday due the line closed at Ledbury for emergency track repairs

Hi all,
can anyone in the know tell me when the Bedwyn service will move to 800 operation?
I know there was talk of the March blockade for the turn back extention work being done, or maybe April.

Anyway, will it change over sooner rather than later is my question.

thanks,

Are the below still current please?

Doing Bath Spa tomorrow with the wife and while it looks as if we'll be on an HST out ( 10.30 from Paddington ) I would hope to get an IET on the way back...
