The 09.50 & 12.01 are on the same diagram (IW951). Paired with IW960, should have split at Paddington but had issues.

The 06.35 & 12.04 are on the same diagram (IW952). Engine issues so terminated at Newbury.

No, both diagrams covered (so yes 3 diagrams affected by issues.)

802006 & 011 were the pair that should have split with 006 working to Oxford and back.

802005 & 010 were the pair in trouble at Newbury.

Would they have let 006 and 011 continue to Oxford? Or did the uncoupling attempt cause other issues?

I don’t think any have been issued yet. Isn’t 802101 the only one handed over and available for traffic. It quite often deputises for a 10 car. I don’t know how many 802 5 cars have arrived. The highest I’ve seen noted is 802016 and probably because that one was the one involved in the big dewirement.

Can only presume that as 011 was due to layover at North Pole while 006 worked to Oxford and back that Hitachi wanted them both back on Depot. I know 9 cars work up thru Oxford but would a 10 car cause issues?

Seems to have been a bad morning in general on gwr. A quick scan of real-time trains seems to indicate delays on most inbound and outbound services.

20 MPH emergency speed restriction imposed on the Up at Radley probably didn’t help matters and Heathrow Express 1Y29 failed at Ladbroke Grove blocking the Up Main for a while.

Am I right in suspecting the units terminated at Newbury were stuck in turn around mode?

Will 1A80 (on a saturday) be an IET tomorrow?

Diagrams already show that one should be running yet last week a HST showed up, although thankfully the displays mentioned missing a coach H and J.

See post #1568 above for the services that are 802s.
Just to confirm though, 1A80 is on an HST diagram tomorrow.

Yes - based on what I have seen on recent trips out, the London end unit - 802 011 in this case - would run to North Pole and be coupled to another 802 and would have formed the 12.03 Paddington to Penzance.

Do we know what the 12.03 ran with today?

If you look at the diagrams that @JN114 provided at #1562, 006 & 011 would have been recoupled at NP and then worked the 1C89 16.33 Paddington - Exeter.
However that's not to say that Hitachi don't swap the sets, between diagrams, when on depot. Obviously a lot depends on engineering requirements or yard constraints.

10 car IETs are currently not allowed to terminate at Oxford until a resolution is found out on how station staff at Oxford are to terminate the DOO trains.

I was just reporting on what seems to be actually happening - at least on the two occasions on which I have observed both the 09.50 and 12.03. Not sure if it's relevant but on both occasions it was a Monday.

Thanks v much @FGW_DID . I caught the 2003 pad to plymouth ..and indeed it was a pair of 802's 006 and 021 iirc. Was it 800 027 on the 1752 pad oxf?
