That's an interesting decision. One that I can't seem doing anything other than pleasing a few enthusiasts. I do like the nameplates I'll be honest.
They are identified as 255s on traction cards and similar internal systems in the same way 253 was still used for full length HSTs. 257 was used for short slam door sets.

The designations were introduced on some internal systems as the characteristics of each set type are different enough to warrant separate identifiers.

Is it right that nine sets have now been delivered, with two outstanding?
Yes but according to the latest issue of Today's Railway's UK the ninth delivered had just 2 carriages with it, 2 more carriages were at Wabtec according to the article so might have been moved down by road or rail at a similar time? The 8th set delivered had 5 carriages, apparently one coach form set 9 and one from set 10. Anyone provided more details? Thanks

So far 29 TS and 10 TGS vehicles have been converted and delivered to GWR so far. Enough for 9 x 4-car and 1 x 3-car sets.

According to the 'other' forum, 43088, 43156, 43160 & 43162 have been selected for modification & traction interlock fitment for working on the 2+4s.

43122 & 43187 are also due to work this tomorrow: https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/R02564/2020-02-05/detailed

No real surprises there, as First Rail Holdings purchased these 4 from Porterbrook last year to add to the fleet. I believe the full mods signing off will come if / when DA3 turns up or not.

Those four are GWR / franchise owned, not FRH / Group owned.

Good seeing the two at Bristol, probably the last time I’ll see the blue livery until some of the others start getting scrapped.

The blue livery will be around for a short while to come, as you've got a few Angel PCs left down in Laira at the moment, with 009+010 at SPM. All of course awaiting the outcome of DA3 or not, although it's unlikely many further will be taken on.

These PCs that have gone up to Wabtec, will they be receiving the GWR liveey as well as receiving the mods to enable them to work on the GTIs, or just the mods??

Thanks :)

5V84 Doncaster, Wabtec to Laira today

43122 48131 48132 48128 49110 43187

Note this is the second 48131, the original one has been renumbered to 48130.

I really do wonder what the point is of all these coach re-numberings. ScotRail only does it to the modified TGFB and I think XC hasn't bothered with re-numbering theirs at all. If it was done to the TSD then it'd would be understandable, but to re-number the whole rake, then keep swapping numbers between vehicles seems odd.

Thanks Paddy, I also have that both 49112 and 4113 have been converted, but do not have their old numbers - they are spare at the moment based on a sightings link.

I was under the impression that 49112 was converted last year (certainly before the 2019 edition of Platform 5's Locomotives & Coaching Stock was published), and that its old number was 44079.
