Congrats everyone. I'm amazed to find out that I passed my MMI too, after visiting swindon on Thursday. I spent the entire weekend beating myself up internally over the negative aspects of my MMI and now I realise I'd done enough!!
Simply can't describe how pleased and relieved I am.

I remember that feeling, all too well. Seeing that email come in, and thinking "here we go, this is where I find out I've f... oh, wait. It says the same as the last email, so I must have passed again". Congratulations to everyone getting their results for Stage 2 and MMI in, and good luck with the DMI! :D

Still radio silence. I'm not at the despondent-and-giving-up stage yet, but I have started scoping out alternative plans. Like has already been noted here, most people who were successful have heard back within 24hrs. I have not. I'm trying really hard not to read into it and despair, but after two weeks... it's becoming increasingly difficult to keep up hope!

I am still waiting for my DMI feedback nine weeks after my interview. It looks like the HR department is really busy at the moment.

Sorry, did you say nine weeks?! Okay, that makes me feel slightly less worried. What depot did you apply for? I know of at least two that have applied for HEX at Paddington same as me who heard back in 24hrs, so I was hoping for a similar response time. Nine weeks would kill me! D:

I applied for Exeter St Davids. I found out five days later that I failed the interview and have now been waiting nine weeks to find out why.

I am aware of at least 12 internals awaiting course dates at Bristol TM having passed final DMI interviews in the last 6 weeks or so.
Oh gosh! I wonder how many internals are in the HEX pool. I'm starting to think I'm going to have a long wait before I get a course (if I get one at all). Got to stay positive I guess

I Read that as awaiting feedback for a DMI after not being offered a job? Could be wrong of course.

Yep, I since reread it all and noticed the word feedback. I'm not quite at the feedback stage yet though, so I'm still waiting. A nine-week wait for feedback isn't ideal, I just hope I don't wait that long for the actual DMI results!

I've just had an email confirming I've passed the MMI :)

We'll see how long the wait is until the DMI. Did you find the GWR DMI was a structured interview with questions similar to the MMI? Or was it more of a laid back interview at this stage? There seems to be contrasting experiences at the DMI stage from reading the forum.

Thanks,

I found the MMI more relaxed than the DMI. You get the luxury of time to consider your answers and write them down before having to expand upon them with the interviewer... The DMI was much more the interview I was expecting, across a desk to a 2 man panel and a mixture questions requiring both structured examples as well as more general stuff about yourself and your knowledge of role and the TOC itself. It was also a bit longer ... about 1hr 20mins...?? although I kinda lost track of the time and it was over before I knew it!!

I felt this too. The DMI seemed more personal which was nice, whereas the MMI was more sort of sterile? I liked the fact that there were set questions in the MMI, which you had to write the answers to before the interview. The DMI (or any other interview to be honest) can catch you off guard.

Gents,

Some of you guys clearly work inside the industry already. Does anyone know if it's okay to be in 2 talent pools, one being GWR? I'd assume so but you never quite know....

In advance, thanks.

Yes....cant say much more than that to be honest. I’ve also just discovered one can’t post fewer than five characters per post too, haha.

I think you always have a plan on what your going to say but on the day it totally goes the opposite way.

Absolutely but the main thing is you said enough to get through! Keep us posted about how you get on. Good time to be applying for Exeter!

I don't really know - we were chatting the other day while making a brew. I think that actually it's a case of he can't start before then, and they'd offered him October but February was first suitable for him.

That's a benefit of being Internal. They work around you a bit. Don't really offer the same flexibility to external candidates

Do you know if he was offered any other courses between October and February? Just wondering if they are running any courses between those months

Well that’s the medical completed. Slight scare as the Doc identified an abnormal heart beat which had to be sent off to the cardiologist to analyse. Update today that heartbeat is ok, phew :)
