I wonder if any Turbos are operating Bristol-Worcester today as they run in isolation of Weymouth and Westbury trains

Yeah I've just discovered this. The same diagram operates next Sunday too, so could well be operated by a Turbo again. Will take it off next week after Sunday.

These trains themselves are STP notwithstanding STP to run as Class 9s. So doesn't mean they will apply next week. More like a case of a Turbo being allocated on the day as the others were workd by 150s and 159s

Regarding these westernised 166s are they. Having guards panels installed in the coaches or only at the rear

I'd imagine guards panels will be installed in the coaches eventually to allow selective door opening to be fitted too as it will be needed as more are allocated to routes around Bristol. At the moment, doors are only controlled from the cab.

GWR have cancelled alot of the Taunton to Cardiff Paths this Saturday, I assume to re add them under 9 paths for Turbos, annoyingly half the service now don't show up on the Journey Planners because of this...

May be a case of letting Train Planning finish the job they may be in the middle of doing.

Been like it all day. I have no issues with what they are doing. But its not really helpful removing it from the Journey Planners as well.

Had a Turbo on the 17.40 Cardiff to Bristol yesterday, seems like a few passengers were confused by the ex first class areas and opted to turn the other way into the rest of the carriage instead. Meant a more comfortable journey for me anyway! Though I do wonder if GWR should put up some signs / make announcements to make it clear these areas are standard class now (when they are used around the Cardiff / Bristol areas anyway).

They will work it out eventually. Make the most of it while it lasts!

Whenever I've been on them, people seem to notice it is standard class accommodation. I guess some people can think for it to be first class although it doesn't say on-board that it is first class accomodation

A problem with the Saturdays Turbo Diagrams. The 1401 Cheltenham to Swindon works 1522 Swindon to Westbury, the 1614 ex Swindon being formed with an arrival from Westbury.

That diagram is from a Facebook group so not mine. Will look into it.

Works
2G80 0715 Gloucester to Worcester SH
2T90 0910 Worcester SH to Bristol TM

The latter normally runs to Westbury but has been split at Bristol TM to accommodate. Don't take this as 100% correct but my research has turned this up. The Golden Valleys are all 150s (or 158s) There would be a balance in the evening but will check out from "Tiger" later.

What's happened to the Turbo's with the nicer refurbished 2+2 seating on the Severn Beach line services? Haven't seen any of them on these services for ages now. Instead it's the old 3+2 seating with the very narrow gangways. Not so ideal and comfortable on busy peak time services when it's fiddly to walk through the gangways as people are over-hanging them. And if you have to make do with an aisle seat, you can get people brushing past you as they walk past because the gangways are so narrow! That said though, they're still better than the old 2-car 150's(which are still used on these services sometimes) at busy peak times, where often you had to make do with standing up!

I must though get a journey on the Turbo's on the longer distance journeys in this region soon, i.e. to Cardiff or Worcester or somewhere. Get a decent longer run on them. As my journeys on them in this region since they were introduced in July, have been no more than 10 minutes per journey!

I thought all 166 turbos had the same seats unless one coach has a different layout

Anyway due to their wide body it can't be as bad as a mid carriage 377...

Commuters always aim for the leading or trailing coaches then feel gutted when a 377 turns up with the high density seating throughout
