Apparently there have been some issues raised by Network Rail re: Turbos between Fratton and PMH. This may mean their introduction to PMH may be delayed tomorrow.
Class 16x DMUs are prohibited from:
• Portsmouth Harbour platforms 3, 4 and 5.
• Portsmouth and Southsea Low Level platforms 3 & 4.
• Portsmouth & Southsea Down carriage sidings
• Fratton platform 3 (including Down Main from Fratton East Junction to
Portsmouth & Southsea).
• Fratton No.1 reception road and back road.
• Fratton depot.
Yes, it was also reported in the other current Turbo cascade thread in the timetables sub-forum.Seems they entered service on the Cardiff-Pompey corridor today.

That restricts the Turbos to terminating at Fratton platform 2 with a 50 min layover or using platform 1 at the Harbour (no platform 2). I see trouble ahead with that lack of flexibility especially at the Cardiff’s don’t usually use platform 1 at the Harbour. As posted in the other turbo thread

All GWR services on weekdays expect 2 services are booked to use P1 at Portsmouth since the January timetable change.
I’d go as far as P1 being the usual for GWR for 10 years or so that I’ve noticed...And last Timetable
They are 5F34 via Portsmouth Harbour, at least according to the post in the diagrams thread last week, so presumably in service with another unit:Route testing Fratton Depot

Runs Mon - Thur. On Wed and Thur the testing uses a unit detached from an inbound passenger working at the Harbour, runs to Fratton FP as 5F09.
There seems to be at least as much up to date discussion in the diagrams thread at the moment, especially regarding route restrictions.
Agree. No criticism intended, we end up with discussions in two places on many subjects and I don’t know what the solution to that is...I posted on this thread as it is not exactly a diagram matter but is in connection with requirements of the cascade of the Turbos

Well at least some coaches are going to storage for nowNot a turbo swap, but HST coaches going to storage with some preserved traction.
Out of interest, most of my commute to Reading has been on a number of “Bristol Based” Turbos. Has there been a number of swaps or a small glut of Bristol turbos coming back to Reading temporarily?
I’ve have 206 last week, 220 yesterday and I’m another one (I’ll check the number later) now.
165132 and 165134 swapped regions today; 134 making the trip west and 132 coming home to Reading having been ride height modified.
As Reading still requires a number of 166s, there have been semi regular rotations to enable outstanding Mod work to be carried out at SPM.
At the moment 166206 / 208 / 220 are at Reading.
