Ironic how the photo is the design furthest away from the original :).

w00t St albans city!

w00t MML HST!

w00t 30 years of scream

by the way, HSTs didn't come to the Midland Mainline until Mid 1980s
Although it good to see that some MML Power Cars still have Valentas on them :notworth:

I might as well contribute some photos to celebrate it's birthday. The HST is one of my favourites. I was very pleased, on 1st of August 2005 to have done the whole 8 hour 8 mins HST journey from London Kings X to Inverness. Photos here: http://harold-baileys-rail-pix.fotopic.net/c746437.html :d

Ah, I remember the 16:08 BedPan Service back on 27th December 2005 :) when we went on the HST :) up to Bedford and back :colors: ,we are lucky (Yorkie,joy54,metcam, me and Harold) have done the HST on that service before it became Meridianised :sad2:

Happy Birthday HST! With all the new stock that's flooding in now nobody knows how long they'll still be around in service for, but for today at least they're doing a fine job - a HST rather than a Voyager any day!

I'd wager also when the old mk1 stock and more elderly diesel locos are done with this is what railtours in the future in 15 or so years time could comprise of!

BLAST! trying to get a photo of one to start up at Paddington is good enough, but the Great Western HST's don't clag as much as the East Coast ones. I always seem to miss every atempt of getting a photo of a GNER one starting up at Kings X. I'm sure i'll strike lucky next time :P

I've just had a look at that BBC article, and laughed at the weblinks they provided....

2 of them are forums for American "Railroad" enthusiasts.
