I'm currently making regular trips to Watford Junction, and because my 60+ Oyster card is not valid on LNWR beyond zone 6 I change between Overground and LNWR at H&W each way. I've noticed an issue with the announcements on platform 6. When a London train is approaching the platform it is announced as the XX:XX LNWR service to Euston calling at all stations to Euston. Once the train stops another announcement correctly states that it's non-stop to Euston. Does anyone know why this is? Who to contact to get it corrected?

London Underground are the station operator - I suppose you could ask LNW to intervene as it’s their customers who could be confused by the announcements.

The “calling at all stations to” announcement is intended for Bakerloo line services to Elephant & Castle as the intermediate tube stations are not in the NR timetable / announcement system

The P.A system here at Harrow and Wealdstone, as well as at other London Overground stations, will be replaced shortly with a more ‘standard’ system, which will announce the service calling points correctly.

The majority of London Overground stations have already converted to another system, so the voice you heard yesterday at Harrow and Wealdstone will be replaced very shortly.

Thanks for this. I'm there most Fridays so I'll listen out.

This "calling at all stations to" issue at Harrow & Wealdstone has been going on for a few years now. It was only supposed to do this on the LO and LU platforms and originally that was the case. But it got messed up a few years ago and started doing the "calling at all stations to" on all of the platforms. So even the LNWR and SN services which skip out dozens of stations do this.

The issue is that this is an old Amey system which runs off the very old Ditra system. Amey closed their CIS business back in 2018 and that is when the contract finished. But now in 2024 six years later LO have continued using the system despite this. What this has resulted in is lots of issues like this coming up. Support from Amey is no longer available and bacause the system is so old it is very difficult to fix issues. Amey was a very high quality system and probably the best CIS that existed but because it is now outdated and no longer supported this remaining LO system has developed numerous issues.

But as londonmidland says the Amey system should be replaced at Harrow & Wealdstone any time now. The rollout of Worldline has already started at most stations and should be finished within the next few weeks. It is a shame the issue has gone on for so long but the issue will not be around for much longer.
