As title.

Will be travelling to Euston (LNWR only fare includes a Zone 1-6 Travelcard), but ultimately need to get to either Bushey or Watford Junction (Zones 8/9).

Whats the best way of doing this please?

As it's an LNWR fare I assume it's an outboundary travel card from somewhere further afield.
In which case just use the return portion to alight at Bushey or Watford.

An LNW only Travelcard won't be valid on London Overground outside Zones 1-6. Oyster or Contactless PAYG should be used from either Harrow & Wealdstone or Watford Junction for the Zone 7+ travel on London Overground.

LNR stop half hourly at Bushey if the original poster can time their journey appropriately. They can reach Bushey or Watford Junction on the 142 and 258 bus.

Do LNWR not serve Watford Jn (in addition to Bushey)? (But to get there from Hatch End/Headstone Lane will require travel via and change at Harrow & W)

They serve both stations. Frankly, I'm a bit puzzled by the idea of travelling to Euston and buying a Travelcard if the actual destination is one of those two stations.

LNWR only return fare is £38.80 or £39.95 with a Zone 1-6 Travelcard (with Sen. Railcard) and we go into London beforehand for R&R (Watford doesn't have a great deal to offer)!

I'm sure the OP can explain but I assume the phrase "ultimately I need to get to Bushey or Watford Junction" indicates the OP doesn't intend to go straight there. Or he would presumably just go straight there, not via Euston.

Use the return portion of your ticket, travelling by LNR.

A Boundary Zone 6 to Bushey/Watford Junction is the appropriate fare. In combination with the Travelcard already held this would be valid on London Overground and LNR services between Euston and Bushey/Watford Junction.

Use the return portion of your ticket, travelling by LNR.
This is an option but if the OP wished to return to Runcorn via Euston they would need to purchase a ticket between Bushey/Watford Junction and Boundary Zone 6.
