Headcodes/Masked IDs

Hi - this may have been dealt with before but . . .

What are Masked IDs and why does RTT only show them in some cases instead of the Headcode?

There is some suggestion that some headcodes need to be hidden in order to preserve the sensitive nature of the cargo or to protect the commercial sensitivities of the FOC. Personally I don't understand the obsession of enthusiasts with headcodes.

Heh, the thing about "sending a spy out with a notebook" isn't too far fetched. One Saturday, a manager from a rival supermarket were counting how many home delivery vans we were sending out so I can imagine transport companies do similar things.

...or they could just browse enthusiasts' Flickr accounts.
