Just heard train think double headed leaving towards York

Any idea of what it was and traction ?

There are some people on here who follow these things, (though I can't help you as I'm not one of them). However, to improve your prospects of a response, perhaps you could tell us which line this particular train was travelling on? I'm aware of at least 3 lines to York from the north and 2 from the south.
It might also help if you mentioned at what time you saw it and where it was at that time.
