Hi

I had booked an East Coast ticket using Print@Home using a credit card which I had lost and its replacement has arrived. It states on the ticket that the credit card is needed for verification while travelling.

I would appreciate if anyone could advise whether I need to approach any member of staff prior to travelling to amend the Print@Home ticket to reflect the new credit card, or whether it is sufficient to simply carry my driving licence, old bank statement and my new credit card to prove that I am the same person travelling as the one stated on the ticket?

I tried emailing East Coast using the form on their website for a written response but they didn't provide me with one and instead gave me a standard response to phone customer support. Based on the fact that different guards take different approaches to unusual situations, I would prefer a written response to prove that I am not fare evading.

Any help is much appreciated

Print @ Home is different to ToD.

You're in better standing than the suggested thread, as you already hold evidence of the ticket (and it could be argued that the replacement card is the same card that you used to book it with, if it's a replacement - but I digress).

Keep a record of the e-mail or calls you make to the place you bought if from, but if they muck you around then don't waste time on them. If you've made an honest effort to get it changed and they don't play ball, I very much doubt that travelling on the ticket with the above info to hand will cause you any issues.

Print@home isn't that rigorously inspected in my experience, never been asked to show the matching CC. In fact, the guards still seem to have problems with the hand-held 'reader' and often just tear off the corner with the code block.
