What is the relevance? If people only talked about things they have direct experience of, then history would be a bit limited...
Just a weird coincidence that the first and last match you watched was the Heysell disaster and you also want to blame the fans for Hillsborough.

If you consider a similar tragedy that occurred around the same time, the Marchioness disaster and imagine The Sun and other scurrilous media running headlines blaming the victims, saying they were drunk or on drugs and it was basically their own fault and blatantly lie about drug crazed party goers attacking ambulance crews and vomiting over "brave coppers" in an effort to divert attention from the failings of those in charge you might kind of get the drift as to why the anguish has dragged on for so long.

All this really highlights is that the Sun is, regardless of anything to do with Hillsborough, a nasty, filthy rag that will say anything to sell papers. Best not to buy it anyway.

Since the war, Germany has tried to forget about the past atrocities and don't really take pride in what Hitler did.

Slightly off topic, but to their massive credit they've done anything but try to forget about it - all schoolchilden are taught about it, and in pretty much any museum you go to there will be a large "mea culpa" section about the Nazi era.

May I suggest the Adrian Temperley book: and the sun shines now.

The early chapters and the final chapter would really help some posters understand the real issues. I would also suggest a reading of the Taylor report. The conclusions are stark and vivid. Taylor pulls no punches about who is to blame.
