This looks a very interestign role. i have always wanted to work on the railways but the only options have been a driver, guard or station staff. This looks like a great alternative. Anyone have experience with this job?

It must have closed early as it's no longer on their website. :(

Don't forget the bit about "investigating accidents" - that will probably be at 3am in the middle of winter with 6inches of snow on the ground - or coming down! I was involved in some serious fire investigations during my Civil Service job which certainly did not stick to normal office hours.

I have recently came across this threat and the vacancy seems interesting, Unfortunately I live in the north of England. Can anyone comment if these vacancies are southern based positions or may there be opportunities for positions nationwide. I understand no one can comment on future vacancies but i am intrigued to learn if there are these types of rolls dotted around the UK.

It's for London or Bristol. I was tempted, but in all honesty I don't think i'm suited to the job.

Just doing a vague Google search, there was one listed roughly this time last year.
