As im sure everyone who even has a remote interest in model railways knows, Hornby has every year produced a wagon in there own red livery with the year it was produced on the side...

Simple question... what year did this start?

Im thinking about starting to collect them, are they a general release or are they limited editions with certificates?

    Many thanks in advance.:D

The Hornby year wagons have been produced every year since 1992. Here's a list, copied from the Hornby forum: http://www.hornby.com/forums/hornby-forums/hornby-collector-club/553/?page=1&added=false

I think they're normally limited editions, but I don't know specifically what quantity of each model is produced.
