I'm planning some journeys around these areas and looking for some decent places to stay. Ideally within walking distance to the railway station, and willing to spend around £30 each. All three seem to have a nearby Travelodge or Premier Inn, but if anyone knows any other hotels/B+Bs of a similar price and quality, I'll have a look at those.

There's a hotel beside the station , the name of it escapes me. Couple down the road if you leave the station via the main entrance and walk up the approach road , turn left and walk down the hill there is a couple , the ashwood hotel springs to mind.
Just had a look at the Ashwood, cheapest price is £35 and not ensuite.
