HS2 - Does Alstom and Bombardier merging make them favourites to win the rolling stock contract?

With Bombardier & Alstom merging does this make them favourite for HS2 rolling stock?
The terms of the merger mean that their previous separate bids remain valid and in play.
Bombardier in any case is teaming with Hitachi for this one.
I don't think anyone is favourite yet, until HS2 Ltd announce a preferred bidder.

I was under the impression that Hitachi will be taking over Bombardier's share of their joint venture.

Railway News says "Alstom will now pursue and finalise sales of a number of assets as set out by the European Commission." Do we know what these are? I assume this is required by EU competition law as one party is French.

the Bombardier part of the order is going to Hitachi 100 % IIRC. In fact the Zefiro platform is going to Hitachi.
