Much of that seems old hat now, with Covid, GBR and all that, being based on the planned timetable in 2019 which was never really implemented.
It assumes things like full MML electrification.
Some major re-planning is going to be needed around Manchester (Castlefield problem) and for EWR (the assumptions include XC running via Milton Keynes to Oxford).
Avanti now has a role in the HS2 planning for through services on to the WCML, and that is bound to alter the wider WCML plans and options.
Planning for the Crewe hub and other northern WCML upgrades is a lot more advanced now.
And then there is the imminent Integrated Rail Plan, linking HS2, NPR and other developments in the midlands and north, which will change things again.
Worth another look when the IRP has been published.
