I heard that this months Anglia PLPR test train is the final time that 37s will be used so I wondered if it was true and if so what other test train duties will they take from 37s.

Never say never. HST Powercars have long been being deployed onto PLPR movements. 37s will continue to be used on all Ultrasonic Test Unit trains and any test train with a DBSO since a single powercar is not powerful enough for all the routes these run on.

And I understand there are issues with clearing Class 43s on all IM (infrastructure monitoring) routes.

Not sure you mean power so much as tractive effort: a 37 is 1750hp vs a Class 43 at 2250hp.

They are more than powerful enough. They aren't compatible with the DBSO hence they have to be top and tailed
