Hello

Just wondering if anyone can help with this one?

A friend needs to travel Huddersfield - Rugby return, outward on 12 March (arrival into Rugby around 1300 - 1400), and return on 13 March (depart Rugby any time from early to mid-afternoon onwards).

She doesn't have any railcards etc (and no PRIV), but does get free travel on Northern, if that would help reduce the cost.

'Normal' splits would be fine, but no loopholes.

Any help much appreciated - thanks in anticipation :)

Get herself to Crewe free with Northern in that case, and use a London Midland only ticket from there.

£21 super off-peak return Crewe to Rugby, £29 return normal off peak if more flexibility wanted.

If she wants to commit to specific trains, she can get that down to £14 with advances.

(Either are a bit cheaper than the £82.60 Huddersfield to Rugby off peak return!)

If you don't mind me asking, has your friend just started working for Northern? Im wondering how she can have free Northern travel but no PRIV thats all.

Possibly a Station Adopter.Free Off Peak travel.

Huddersfield to Salford Crecent, Salford to Piccadilly and Piccadilly to Stoke all on Northern.
Stoke to Rugby on London Midland at £20.50 each way with Super Off Peak singles. (£41)

Just a quick message to say thanks to all so far for the replies. I'll look at these in detail further tomorrow and liaise with her about them (and anything else which anyone can suggest) :)

That's more expensive than the one I put, which is between £14 and £29 return.

Think it would be easier also for her just to go into Manchester and then Manchester to Crewe.
