I notice that Hull Trains are running two return trips from Hull to St Pancras International today.
The second northbound trip is scheduled to take 3h31 nonstop from St Pancras to Selby. Is such a long run without intermediate station stops unusual? (Sleepers excepted!)
Oddly, the first northbound train is also non-stop from St Pancras to Selby, but takes 2h47 for the same route.

The second one is slower to Bedford with more timetable allowances - it seems to get put on the slow line between Harpenden and Leagrave for a EMR Sheffield service to go by. The earlier one goes fast line and stays ahead of the Sheffield service all the way. The difference seems to be the three minutes quicker schedule of the second Sheffield train to Leicester which doesn't stop at Market Harborough so there must be a headway issue somewhere.

Both Hull Trains services have unadvertised stops at Doncaster.

Definitely diesel south of Kettering. Managed to overtake the Class 360 at Bedford we were meant to be following to London, so the first arrival was 3 or 4 early.
