IE 2700 Class Farewell Tour

On Saturday 31st March 2012 the Irish Railway Record Society ran a 2700 Class Railtour from Ballybrophy to Waterford via Limerick.

Traction was 2719 + 2722 and I photographed the special at various locations between Ballybrophy and Killonan Junction.

Was the original plan not to use a 4 car?

Yes, but the numbers booked didn't warrant the use of a 4 car.

Apart from the gauge, any reason why UK operators cannot take these on? They are newer than any of Northern's trains apart from the class 333 electric units.
