What would a taxi service be like?
Possibly something like this..
- You could book a taxi in advance for a long distance journey for as little as £1
- Loud announcements and beeping noises would be heard constantly on 'Virgin Taxis'
- 'Central Taxis' would double all fares for long distance taxi journeys.
- Cheaper taxi fares would be possible by paying a fare to go half-way, and then paying another fare to go the other half of the journey. Known as "combo fares", this would save a significant amount.
- The taxi routeing guide would determine the permitted routes you could take. 1,000,000 pages long it is subject to change without warning and can only be used by those with a Degree in how to use it. If you were caught taking a taxi on an invalid route, a Travelling Taxi Inspector may give you a penalty fare, if you boarded a 'Penalty Fare taxi' in a 'Penalty fare zone'.
- If your taxi was delayed due to congestion you would be allowed to complain to the taxi company and get a refund. The longer the taxi journey takes, the greater the refund ( ). The taxi driver would have to apologise to the customer every 5 minutes.
- First Class taxis would operate across the Pennines. For an overpriced supplement you would get a red seat and a 50% chance of a free cheapo cup of coffee (drink at own risk and not while going over bumps).
- All 'slam door' taxis would be immediately withdrawn and replaced by slide-door taxis.
