Unfortunately a trespasser has now been confirmed as struck by a train which was passing through South Croydon.

This incident is causing severe congestion between East Croydon and Purley, as well as leading to very few trains being able to run north of Oxted.

Fortunately traffic is currently able to work around the incident in both directions, but I'm not sure how long this will continue.

Not sure how this may affect the BML evening peak...

EDIT: Just been advised that all lines bar one are available now. The incident is serious as you may imagine, but in the specific circumstances, trains can indeed get past. However, none will be able to call at South Croydon for the foreseeable.

Trains were still extremely busy at 5pm this evening. The 1708 from Clapham was standing down the isles until Horsham, normally can get a seat at east croydon or gatwick.
