    Can anyone enlighten me on how busy the following services are;
    11.55 Carlisle - Leeds
    15.05 Leeds - Nottingham.
    Also, are both diagrams currently served by a 158? I expect the Leeds Nottingham service will be a tad busier!
    Thanks in advance!:D

    158s are pretty common on both runs. The S&C can be other stock (150/158+153/155) but it's generally 158s iirc.

    On the Nottingham run, I've seen 142s, 144s and 158s in platform 17 at Leeds. I think they usually try and keep it as a 158 though.

    Carlisle to Leeds will almost certainly be a 158, perhaps with a 153 attached to boost capacity. On the Nottingham run its mostly 158s too, but experience tells me you're at the mercy of Northern's random unit generator for that one.

    Oh, the Carlisle to Leeds train shouldn't be too busy. It might fill up a bit between Garsdale and Settle if the weather is nice as people will be going out for a walk - although at that time of the day the train is going in the wrong direction for most. The final bit through Airedale (and especially after Keighley) can get rather busy too. Can't comment on the Nottingham train.

    Pacers still aren't cleared south of Chesterfield AFAIK and so I've only ever seen 150s (rare) and 158s in Nottingham

    I believe the 142/144s you've seen in Platform 17 are most likely at the Wakefield end with a 158 at the buffers. If so, the Pacers would be going to Knottingley, with the 158 departing 10 minutes or so afterwards being the limited stop Sheffield/Nottingham train.

    I've sometimes been confused myself when waiting for the Sheffield/Nottingham service, as amongst all the noise within Leeds City station, it is not always clear as which train is which, as both Knottingley and Nottingham sound phonetically similar.

    In peace

    This would make a lot of sense. I think you're right. However, I'm almost certain I've seen the 158 & 144 coupled on one or two occasions, which is a little baffling.

    I've found that too but I've noted that often the doors on the 158 to Nottingham aren't opened until the stopper via Castleford has gone.

    both tend to be 158's

    Every time i have used the S&C in recent years it has been 1 or 2 158's and on occasion a 158 & a 153.

    I use the Nottingham - Leeds service on a semi regular basis (connecting with the Bedford train) on a Saturday and it has been a 158 every time. Once whilst waiting at Woodlesford i saw a 150 speed through heading for Nottingham.

    I use the Castleford service from Leeds on a regular basis and that can be owt! I have had 142/144/153/150 & 158's on that!
