Hey, does anyone the real name for these? I think they are called internal valve gear but i could be wrong.

I *think* that's the inside cylinder but I'm not 100% sure. Will wait for others to confirm! (Also, this thread may have been equally at home in the Traction & Rolling Stock section!)

Inside valve gear, I think, is the phrase that we are looking for.

Inside motion, but what you can see is the connecting rod and driving crank web. They had Stephenson valve gear so you you would also have four eccentrics and two expansion links in there too.

D'oh.... should have realised that given that I have bought every single issue of Steam Railway right back from number one in 1979...:oops:
