I’m confused as to which parts of the network are double track and single track (operational)

Ryde Tunnel to the junction by Smallbrook Junction and Sandown currently with a loop being reinstated at Brading are the only operational double track bits

There are two separate lines lines between Esplanade and Pier Head, with the eastern one not having been used for quite a few years. The points for the start of the double track to Smallbrook are just on the tunnel side of Esplanade station.

The eastern track was last used for a pier shuttle, but that hasn't run in decades. The layout allowed a unit to get from the depot to undertake the shuttle duty via a shunt move but not in through passenger service. I think the last shuttle of the night could run through to Ryde St Johns Rd loaded though.
