This is a rare event; pdeaves talking about numbers!

There seems to have been some 29000 units altered from their 'proper' formation. Ordinarily, unit 29001 would be vehicles 29101, 29201, 29301 and 29401, then sequential for other units. The cab fronts carry the vehicle number (29101 at one end, 29401 at the other).

Last weekend (15 June) I saw an 8-car set led by 29129. Expecting something different at the rear, I was surprised to see 29429, i.e. the number that 'should' be in the middle of the set. Others in my party confirmed that I didn't mistake a 4-car for an 8-car and that what we saw was 'wrong'.

Can anyone advise what the formations are now, please?

Like the ICR sets 22001 and 22002 which have been reformed to have 22201 and 22301 permanently coupled together, the same treatment has also occured to 29000 Class sets 29029 & 29022. These are now formed of 29129 + 29229 + 29329 + 29422 + 29122 + 29222 + 29322 + 29429. The cabs of 29122 & 29422 have been fitted with the prototype CAWS/ATP Hybrid in-cab signalling equipment.
