To be honest, I don't particularly notice daytime noise in the urban area I live in. It seems that for the last decade or so, there have always been at least two or three long running projects in the area, (e.g. house extensions) that come 8am on a weekday morning through to 4.30pm there's a cacophony of racket going on with various power tools whining, radios playing, skips being emptied, materials delivered etc. Similarly now the warmer weather is here we have regular operation of garden power tools 7 days a week at all times of the day by enthusiastic neighbours. Add in the two bin collections each week, regular supermarket deliveries / Amazon etc up and down the road at all hours (sometimes before 8 in the morning, and as late as 10 in the evening), I barely notice which neighbour is responsible for which particular racket that's going off - it's become general background noise to me as it's pretty much commonplace now!
Hopefully as lockdown eases further, we'll all be in our homes less and therefore: (a) making less noise; and (b) not having to sit about tolerating other people going about whatever business they see fit.
I think also, unless the source of noise is from behind a "party wall" in an adjoining property, then we start to notice noise more around this time of the year as people are outside more regularly, and in the house there are usually windows / doors open so obviously any external noise does become more noticeable.
However, I would be the first to object if some mindless moron was being antisocial with recreational noise late on at night. I've been lucky to avoid that - even when living as a student - whilst hearing many horror stories that others have endured.
